Integra for Notes combines the functions of Notes databases with Microsoft Word and Excel capabilities. While a number of 3rd party applications exist to generate reports from Lotus Notes databases, these all involve learning a new toolset and also have their own limitations. For instance, many are not able to access data from multiple Notes databases or from data held on sub-forms or in response documents.

Integra for Notes takes a completely different approach by providing facilities for the transporting of data from Lotus Notes databases to Microsoft Word and Excel, products that all users are already familiar with. These tools provide tremendous opportunity to the user to manipulate, present, print and chart data and all these capabilities can become an extension of the Lotus Notes environment.

Integra for Notes is an independent Lotus Notes database which allows for the creation of Integra Profiles which allow the definition of the databases, forms and fields that need to be exported as well as the pre-formatted Word or Excel template into which the data is to be exported. A set of Integra fields are identified, some pointing directly to the fields on a form or sub-form in Lotus Notes, while others can be computed fields, their value defined by Notes formula language or even Lotuscript.

In addition to supporting the full range of Lotus Notes formula language within computed Integra fields, the Advanced Section of an Integra profile provides facilities for the creation of event driven code using Lotuscript. The combination of these two capabilities allows for data to be accessed from multiple forms, views and databases as well as enabling access of data from non-Notes databases such as Oracle, MS-SQL, Informix, Microsoft Access and any type of ODBC data source.
